I just installed windows server 2003 on a VM for development. That server appears to work just fine and dandy, but each and every time I restart the Notes Client, the icon for that new server says it’s not a known TCP/IP host. If I remove the icon I have to use the IP address to find it again, and when I do that and add the icon it will work until the next time I launch Notes. Then I have to do it all again.

I have the server in the workstation’s hosts file, even though that hasn’t been necessary for any other server I’ve installed. Notes automagically added a connection document for it, even though other servers I routinely use don’t have one. Both the hosts file and the connection document point to the IP I have to manually enter each day.

I can RDP to this server without issue, and use the Java Console, both without using the IP address directly. I can also ping the server by name.

Both Domino & Notes are R8.5.1FP2, but that is not a Release selection.
Any ideas? Thanks for your time…
