We are currently in the process of an upgrade to D7. All mail servers are upgrade to D7 but client are still at 6.5.x and mail template is at 6.5.x. (iNotes). We have a situation where if a user send a meeting invitation to another user, who exists in the Domino domain, but sends it to them using an external reference (jdoe@abcdef.com). It goes out of the Domino network comeback back to the correct user’s inbox. The user can accept it. The issue that is occurring is with this new DST. When the message comeback in, there are no “StartTimeZone” or “EndTimeZone” fields so there the meeting is an hour off. Both sender and receipt are correctly patched. Servers are patched.
Thank you in advance for your help, assistance, and insight.

We identified if we switch in our current location document “Format for messages addressed to internet addresses:” from Notes Rich Text Format to MIME format. The meeting is correctly sent and received.
It seems that some conversion of the meeting invitation from Notes Rich Text format is switching the time.
We do not think this is a solution.
Subject: iCalendar Meeting Invitation with No Timezone Fields
There were several tests done to confirm that iCal entries would show up correctly, but IBM has found a situation for the *nix platforms that appears to have this symptom. A technote and details are still being worked out.
As to the workaround - there is not an assertion that it’s the only way, I think Alan’s observation was more that the default is for the client to do MIME conversion for internet addresses which hopefully reduces the impact of this situation.
Subject: RE: iCalendar Meeting Invitation with No Timezone Fields
Technote 1256592 addresses this topic from a more formal point of view. Please post questions as needed. A fix is still being investigated, the difficulty being that execution of the fix would require a server update and the suggested workaround is easier for most to deploy and use.
