Ibm Notes Browser Plug-in opening local database replica

Hello everyone.
In our organization we want to migrate to the current client Ibm lotus Notes Browser Plug-in version 9.0.1. our knowledge, IBM strongly recommend that we use the iNotes from the Plug-in as to open local databases based on the template post, is not supported suggests.
But we found a way, breaking the rules, you can open a database mail currently replicated to a Domino server, in fact, I have my plug-in installed and running, receiving emails and sending emails and I am working very well. This we did it, changing the document location, mail tab, field, mail file, as shown in figure 1, there in that field put a database anyone who is not in use. With this small change, the Database Mail opens fine and perfectly replicated from the server, I can send and receive emails, like a lotus Notes Basic client, see Figure 2 and Figure 3. Now, if in the field the email database is placed, when trying to open it, it throws the iNotes and that’s not what we want in our organization. The disadvantage is that the policies issued from the Domino server does not apply because the email database is not declared in the document mail file location field. Also the contacts are not synchronized, see picture 4. The remaining features so far works well. I actually have a lot of time working with the Plug-in and it has gone well. Now, our organization needs to know, when IBM has provided launch a FIX Plug-in that allows to configure the local paper and the mail database can be used without problems.
Greetings to all and thank you very much

Subject: Ibm Notes Browser Plug-in opening local database replica with Inotes

Hi Rafael

Notes browser Plug-in is so designed that it supports an “User’s” own mail file in Inotes only.
When user migrates to the current client Ibm Notes Browser Plug-in version 9.0.1. , IBM strongly recommends that we use the iNotes ,as to have the advantage of all Domino server Policy settings and complete Replication of Mail and mail related applications (Contacts etc)

When you change the settings in location document - mail tab, the mail file field (the workaround as done by you) , the Mail file no longer is considered as “User’s” own mail file and it behaves as any other Mail application we would create on local , hence no policies from server side will be applied to same.

Also, what will happen is that if you have any apps that try to send mail, or if the user does a “Action->Forward”, it will not work.

Through Notes browser Plugin ,as designed in the version , even the local mail database replica will open up in “Inotes” and will have all Policies and replication settings from Domino server side.

We do have plans to make off-line (local replica) mail available in newer releases but via local iNotes(Just the UI will be a web UI.) . With that, you won’t need iNotes on the Domino server and everything will work as before.
