IBM Notes 9 on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64 bit

Hi,

i installed Ibm Notes 9.0.1 with various fixpack on ubuntu 14.04 gnome 64 bit.

I change package, for 386 architecture, for adaptive installation on 64 bit system.

No problem on installation, no problem on use, all feature run without problem.

Only problem after close program.

When i close, for my reason, i try to lunch ibm notes, but nothing to do, non process run, nothing of nothing.

I must reboot my linux box, then launching Ibm Notes 9 start without problem.

Anyone have any idea ?

I run Ibm Notes 9 with IBMNotes9.0.desktop file becoming with package.

Regards.

Alessandro A.

p.s. my file content IBMNotes9.0.desktop

Did you find the fix? i am also facing this issue and did not find any solution yet.

Subject: This issue has been fixed in 9.0.1 FP5

It takes long time to re-launch after quit Notes. The defect id is HPXGA2E9Z8. You can apply FP5 and have a try…

Subject: Notes is broken since I upgraded to 9.0.1FP5 on my Ubuntu 14.04 box

I upgraded Notes from 9.0.1FP3 to FP5 on my Ubuntu 14.04 (64 Bit) system. Ever since Notes starts up, but after a few seconds it crashes. I don’t know exactly what’s going on (did not look into nsd crash dumps yet). Reverting to 9.0.1 by re-running the FP5 installer did not work. I’m afraid I’ll have to re-install 9.0.1 from scratch.

Subject: Thx for the hint. The same issue was bugging me, too.

I can confirm that, while it wasn’t necessary to restart Ubuntu, one had to wait several minutes before Notes could be restarted after closing it.

My miss …

When i close, no process “notes” or similar running on system.

I try to relaunch and go to take a coffe for a time, and then verify.

Ty, for now.

Subject: Notes shut down

Make sure taht all Notes processes are being shut down. You can t ry to issue the command “NSD -kill” from the Notes directory and then restarting to ensure that all Notes processes are stopped.
