We’ve got several Domino Application and Mail servers running on Windows 2003, 2008 and 2008 R2 with another to be installed on Windows 2012 R2 in the near future.

These consist of Lotus Domino 8.5x servers and IBM Domino 9.0.1 servers.

But I’m having a real problem finding IBM (or IBM Lotus) Domino certified backup software or online backup services.

I need something that will not only backup my server locally (we store backups on a large capacity NAS device instead of tape), but also something that can upload an offsite copy of the backup to a Cloud service such as Amazon S3.

LOTS of Exchange options out there that use the Microsoft VSS quiescence service to grab a server snapshot and then make the backup.

But very few backup solutions that work with the old Lotus API to make a backup of live NSF and NTF files (shutting down server at night time is not an option).

And (as far as I can tell) no options that will also allow us to upload an offsite backup.

Any ideas? I love Domino and Notes, and have been using it since R3!

But if IBM doesn’t start providing better backup strategies and options (such as using the popular VSS service instead of the API’s), I’m not sure how much longer we can keep using Domino.
