I have a calendar view (viewed through the Notes Client only) which had the usual two needed columns and another two columns, one to show the start and end times (“11:00 - 13:00”) and one to show some details of the entry (“Service level 1 - Details of service”). I have time slots enabled, but wanted to show start and end times anyway, so that there was no confusion with users.
When viewed in the two day format, if there were conflicting entries (which are allowed in this instance) there was not enough space to show all of the details, so I set the entry height to 9 lines and selected “Shrink rows to content”. This worked fine. The second displayed column (fourth column in the view) wrapped and I could see all of the text as expected.
Then I thought “what if there are more than two entries using the same time - they would get smaller in width again!!!”. So I deleted the second column and decided to just use one column to display everything (“11:00 - 13:00: Service Level 1 - Details of service”), still with 9 lines and “Shrink rows to content”, thinking it will wrap all of this text if need be.
But when I viewed the calendar, none of the text wrapped at all. So thinking I will come back to this (more important things to do, because in this instance to have more than two entries occupying the same space is possible, but unlikely) I then changed the first formula back to what it was (“11:00 - 13:00”) and re-created the other column (“Service level 1 - details of service”).
This is where the problems really started. No matter what I do I cannot get this column to wrap again, the way it did previously and I cannot display all of the information in the calendar!! I have checked the column names (in the advanced tab), and even re-created the documents. But I still can’t figure out why I can’t wrap the text again. I should be able to - it worked before, but it just don’t work now.
Have I missed something really simple - a setting in the column or views properties or is there a bug here, or am I just imagining things working???
Please help - this is driving me nuts.
Charlie.
PS Iris, please document the undocumented (NotesCSEventOwnerDocument and the like - this is also driving me nuts!)
