I have a question regarding hyperlinks in an email body from Outlook email to Lotus Notes - please keep in mind that I don’t know Lotus Notes well.
I have a recipient of an email report I create/send who uses Lotus Notes (I use Outlook). I create an email that has hyperlinks - these hyperlinks do not point to external URLs; rather they point to different bookmarks that are just different paragraphs further along in the same email body (it is a long email body and hence the need for hyperlinks).
The way I create these hyperlinks/bookmarks is the following:
a) I write the body of the email originally in a MS WORD document and thus, I create the hyperlinks and bookmarks in MS WORD; these hyperlinks are just pointers to a paragraph further down the WORD document; so, the first few paragraphs of the MS WORD document are summaries and the hyperlinked summaries point to the bookmarks (fuller details) further along in the MS WORD document
b) then I paste the entire MS WORD document into an email (HTML format) in Outlook - when I do this, the hyperlinks and bookmarks are retained so that our recipients who use Outlook can click on these hyperlinks and they immediately go to the appropriate place further along in that email
c) I send out the email to our recipients and one of whom has Lotus Notes
d) when that Lotus Notes user clicks on the hyperlinks at the beginning of the email, it opens up a new window and says URL not found (or something like that) where it should just reposition the email to the corresponding bookmark further down the email body
As mentioned, I am unfamiliar with Lotus Notes and any help would be much appreciated.
