HTTPpassword problem

I’m new at Notes…

I have a rather strange problem…

Whenever I change Internet Password, the old password continues to work…

Only when a do restart server the old password is disabled…

Does anyone know what I’m doing wrong here?

Thx

I’m not a notes admin, so they can explain your options.

I can confirm it has been my experience that the HTTPpassword is “cached” (what I call it) and it can take upto a day before the password updates. (At least on the system I work on).

Hi,Some hints.

See the Admin Help doc: Web Server Tell commands

Try this command on the server:

“Tell HTTP Show Users”:

Displays the names of users, their IP addresses, and the session expiration time for users authenticated with session-based authentication.

After a user logs out, this command continues to display the cookie as valid on the server. The session is still valid even though the user has ended the session.

Next, try: “Tell HTTP Refresh” after a password change.

In the Server document/Internet Protocol/Domino Web Engine/HTTP Sessions:

“Idle session timeout: 30 minutes” (default).

Section “Memory Caches”:

“Cached user expiration interval”

Enter the time interval in seconds during which Domino regularly removes user names, passwords, and group memberships from the cache. The default is 120

“Maximum cached users” The default is 64.

Cheers.

Thanks - but that just left med with:

tell http show users

18-10-2006 07:56:09 There are no current HTTP user sessions

tell http refresh

18-10-2006 07:56:23 HTTP Server: Refresh Started

18-10-2006 07:56:23 HTTP Server: Refresh Complete

It say “No current HTTP user session” when I’m connected with old- and also new password.

Helle Jacob,

By default the domino caches the old password 24-48 hours.

You need to modify/add the parameter below to your notes.ini. Reboot is needed.

“HTTP_PWD_CHANGE_CACHE_HOURS=x”

you need to put at least a value of “1” on the “x”, otherwisw you might encounter a problem on your domino/web access…
