I just upgraded from 5.0.12 to 6.5. the platform is Windows 2kserver w/spack 4. The machine is a dual Xeon 2.4, with 2GB Ram. Plenty of headroom for the small user base that I have.
I am NOT running IIS. The only thing I was using the http task for on R5 was for web access to mail, and we are looking to expand that.
Every time I start the http task it says it starts, JVM starts, then…nothing. The task just sits there and initializes. I’m not getting error messages in either the domino or Win2k logs. The server doesn’t crash, but the cpu useage is about 50%. My users are only effected slightly, but that doesn’t make me feel any better about this. The task will stay that way for as long as I let it.
Http will not respond to any other console command that I’ve thrown at it other than sh ta. The only way to stop this is to exit the server (as far as it will go because http will NOT disengage) and then reboot the whole machine. This gives me an ‘ugly’ restart as well as causes consistency checks.
I’ve disabled servlets, set up the R6 settings… What am I missing?
Does the command “tell http restart” work? or “tell http show users”?
On the Server Configuration document, Internet Protocols, Domino Web Engine Tab are you using a Java Servlet Support. (Probably Domino Servlet Manager) if so, you MUST create the directory “servlet” manually. It is under D:\Lotus\Domino\Data\Domino\
Presumably you have no forward and revers DNS lookup problems,and the host name etc is listed correctly in the Server Document.
Are you usind Session Authentication? is it Single or Multi. is the SSO Token created correctly. There was a bug in 6 for Multi-Server SSO, when not using the Internet Sites Document which has to be enabled on the Basics Tab.
Not sure how much this will help to be honest, but maybe just a few places to look.
I hv migrated our 5.0.6 server to ND 6.5. When I start the HTTP task it starts properly giving the message “HTTP Server Started” and then the processor utilization goes to 100% constantly.
I am not able to figure out what the HTTP task is doing so much that the processor utilization is going to 100%
I really appreciate I any one can give some sort of a hint in this regards
