We run Domino 8.5.1 on Windows 2008 Server. We continue to get the following error when the HTTP task is loaded.
HTTP Server: Error - Unable to Bind port 80, port may be in use or user needs net_privaddr privilege
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I can’t see any obvious reason why this is occuring. I can’t see where any other process is using Port 80.

We noted the same thing and for us it turned out to be either Windows update or an anti virus like Trend OfficeScan causing the issue. It never was an issue with 7x. Have a look at the services and see if there is anything like “Application Layer Gateway Service”, then stop that and load http.

ESET NOD anti-virus will cause this problem. They have a resolution posted, you need to disable one of the settings.

Change the port to other thing, like 8080 or something.
If the task loads, then there is other application which you might not have access to that it’s giving you problems.
Also, it could be a firewall problem. Or the second option but this is just to confirm.
