Hi,We are running Domno 6.5.1 on a MS server 2003 platform. We have recently MS Patched this server with the latest MS patches including Windows server2003 sp1. Since the reboot last night we have been unable to access this server via a web browser. Even from the box, we cannot get to the default homepage.nsf Just get page cannot be displayed error. The HTTP task is running. There are no errors on the Domino Console or log files. I have enabled the HTTP domino logging, but again there are no errors in the domlog.nsf Any ideas where to start?
Subject: Http access after MS patches applies
The IBM Support team did provide us a solution on Friday. The problem on our Domino server was probably indeed related to one of the MS security patches: MS Internet Explorer did accept the cookies from our Domino server just fine before those patches. However, there was no domain entered in the appropriate field in our LptaToken configuration document (Web SSO Configuration). After re-creation of the LptaToken document - now with our domain name entered - everything worked fine as before. Thus, it appears that Internet Explorer does require cookies to be better defined since the latest patches have been applied.

Hi,
We do have the same problem. However, removing security patches is no option for us. Thus,we did an upgrade to Domino Version 7.0.2 to check whether that would resolve the issue. It did not! Can anyone help to get a solution without compromising systems security?

We removed all the MS patches but they dd not help. Then removed server 2003 SP1 . This worked. Http task running as previous.

Andrew
Perhaps something else (e.g. IIS) was using port 80 - or maybe domino couldn’t bind to that port?
Just a thought.

Ben,
Actually, the login page appears meaning http/https works and Domino is listening on port 443. However, the login does not function with Internet Explorer: A session is being created but the login page comes up again. Surprisingly, it works fine with the Firefox Browser. Unfortunately though, we can’t use Firefox as it won’t support Java as required by our applications. Meanwhile I have opened a PMR for this issue.

Dirk, How did you resolve this?
We do not have IIS running on this machine.
one of our other 2003 servers , that also has domino R6.5.1 installed and sp1 ,does not have this problem.

Just an FYI:
Running Domino 7.0.1 and IIS and have applied patches. No problems accessing HTTP on port 80 or port 81 (have reassigned Notes HTTP to port 81 - IIS is using 80) on Windows 2003.
