HTML Login Form (.html)

What steps shall I follow in order to make my login page to be an .html page using HTML FORMS?

For example, when I go to mail.domain.com, I want the actual page to be .html page instead of .nsf.

Please help me in making the nessesary changes to the domino server and also in creating the html form page (with username, password, & submit button) that will direct each user to his own mailbox.

Thanks in advance.

This already comes with the Domino software you bought. Search the Admin help and this forum for ‘DWA’ (Domino Web Access) it’s still an nsf but does exactly what you want.

Thanks for your reply.

I am aware of the “.nsf” based Domino Web Access Redirect. But I explicitly need an “.html” page as the login page.

On your server document tab ‘Internet Protocols’ sub tab ‘HTTP’ there is a field to specify the html page to launch. Typically it is default.htm. Now put your page in the domino\data\domino\html subdirectory on the server and the http process will use that page when no database is explicitly called in the url.

Thanks for the help

I created a default.htm and I was able to view it: http://mail.domain.com/default.htm

But when I type http://mail.domain.com, I see the default domino page (The black background page which has Notes 7 Client Help, Domino 7 Designer Help, Domino 7 Administrator Help… elc)…

I want to view the default.htm instead when I type http://mail.domain.com. How do I do that?

Thanks

Aggh,

That is straight forward.

In your server document go to the following:

Server Document > Internet Protocols > HTTP

Then on the top right you should see a mapping section. Edit the Home URL to be Domino\html\default.html and that will be your page.

The other thing you can do is create an iframe on your default page and embed the DWA url as it’s source. That should give you the best of both worlds.
