On a number of our testing systems we are experiencing issues with HTML emails taking a long time to display.
If the body of the email contains HTML/MIME content when it is opened it can take minutes before it is displayed. The email is displayed immediately in the preview pane and the full body can be displayed if you open the message and select Forward.
We are using Notes 9.0.1 FP1 SHF182 on Windows 8.1 Update (Internet Explorer 11) and have Notes configured to use the default browser for the operating system however “Disable embedded browser for MIME mail” is not selected.
Is this a known issue/bug?
Subject: Embedded browser
Thanks for the suggestions.
I hadn’t realised that “embedded browser” meant operating system browser: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21282102 http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21282102
By setting Disable embedded browser for MIME email we will be disabling the use of the operating system browser (in this case IE11) and reverting to the Notes browser.
The setting does work and gets us around the issue however it does not explain why we need to use the Notes browser instead of IE11 when we didn’t with IE9. We have an open PMR with IBM and hopefully will get an answer.
Subject: Contents of Mail
What are the contents of the HTML/MIME mails? Are there images (http or https) in the mail? Is there a proxy server involved here? Please confirm if the option suggested by Michael does resolve the problem
Subject: Then check…
…“Disable embedded browser for MIME mail”, I think, that solved your issue.
