How to write the send mail despite the Ambiguous Name Dialog Box?

with a location setting for Recipient name type ahead= Local then server & Recipient name lookup=Exhaustively check all address books

and a local nab-entry=user7\ca.…

and a server-nab-entry=user7\us.…

i am getting the Ambiguous Name Dialog Box when i compose a mail (ui).

when i compose a mail in a notes application and use maildoc.send

Maildoc.SendTo = “CN=user7/OU=us/OU=xx/O=yy” '–> error 4295

i am always getting the catch-22 :

4295: Unable to send mail, multiple matches found in Name & Address Book(s)

WHY ? the SendTo is unique

–without changes to the location document –

-how to get the dAmbiguous Name Dialog Box ?

-how to avoid getting it ?

Thanks

just a stab in the dark but give this a shot:

Instead of setting Maildoc.SendTo =, REM that line out and do:

Call Maildoc.Send(False, “CN=user7/OU=us/OU=xx/O=yy”)

Have not tested this but it’s worth a shot. Just thinking that maybe when you do it this way it may ignore the location doc settings and let the router handle the dupicate if there is one.

thanks, i did that too, gives unfortunately the same result

Isn’t there any other way out (without touching the location setting) of this catch-22 ?

well since you are specifically sending the mail to an exact notes name I am concerned it’s finding a duplicate match even though you say there is nothing in the user’s personal address book. If you run the script from another user’s PC does it have the same result? If so then check the DD’s $Users view for a duplicate of the same entry, perhaps a rep/save conflict?

There are no rep/save conflicts.

From another user’s pc it’s reproduceable.

Is there a way to use on error 4295 and bring up the Ambiguous Name Dialog Box ? to let the user at least send the mail as with maildoc.send it will never work.
