How to sync a Palm Tungsten directly with D6?

Now that I have a wireless Palm with true (and fast) TCP/IP networking, why do I have to be chained to a desktop for sycing the core-4 databases?

Surley SOMEBODY out there has written SOMETHING to let me hotsync directly with my Domino server!!??

Any thoughts appreciated…

Rich.

long shot but maybe try easysync pro. Haven’t used it myself but I have been told you can sync using it.

Thanks, but according to their web page (http://www.lotus.com/products/easysyncpro.nsf) it only syncs with Notes. I want to forget about my desktop and sync directly with my server.

As long as I am tied to my desktop or laptop, I might as well throw my Tungsten against the wall. What is the point of investing the money for wireless hardware if the users cant use it?

I have the same Palm device. I would try AvantGo’s Pylon Pro. It will sync directly with the server and perhaps, if you have some kind of everyplace connection, you could sync wirelessly.

I have not got such high-tech, but even so, I can synch, via my laptop’s IR port, with server-based databases.

I have found easysync to not nearly have the ease of use of AvantGo’s software.

Thanks for the tip!

Their website lead me around in circles. I was not able to find out if they make a Linux version of thier server products.

I sent them a info request. Hope that works. A couple of links on thier site did not work in the developper area.

I don’t think anyone has a Linux version of the server-based products.

That said, you don’t need to run the sync server on the actual Domino server. Cadenza, for example (http://www.commontime.com) has a “workgroup” mode, which allows you to install the sync server on ANY Windows PC that people can access … it will talk to the server (and won’t care what flavor the server is).

You can hit that directly over the internet with your spiffy new Tungsten and everyone is happy!

hahaha!

Spiffy is not one word I would have thought of.

Definately “Cool”.
