How to stop consistency check during server start

Hi Friends,

If when I start a server which was abnormally shutdown then it will run consistency check which was being used during down. Supposing during server start if consistency check is running on a very big (1gb) which is taking lots of time and does not start other server task , in this case how can i stop consistency check for that time so that atleast server can be started. I am not able to get server console so that I can stop fixup. Any other way to sort out this problem.

Put this in the notes.ini of the server, consistency checks will not be performed at server start-up.

The best solution is to use Transaction Logging. Not only will this speed up restarts considerably, but if set up properly it will increase server performance too.(see IBM - United States )

The only draw back is that you will need to ask for a dedicated disc (200MB min) to write the log to.
