One of my users created a draft message, and wanted to test the hyperlinks on it. When she opens the message, it opens in Edit Mode, as I would expect.
I told the user to press CTRL + E to toggle Edit Mode off - however in R6.5.4 of the client, this does not appear to work - notes keeps flipping the doc straight back into Edit Mode.
In previous releases of notes, pressing CTRL + E would toggle an open (but saved) draft message out of Edit Mode, allowing the user to test hyperlinks etc.
Does anyone know an easy way of getting a draft to appear, not in Edit Mode, in a R6.5.3 or 6.5.4 client???

Thanks Mike.
By default we don’t use the preview pane, so:
save the message > go to drafts view > select message > enable preview
is not as quick as my old method of
CTRL + S then CTRL + E
in the draft message.
However, as a workaround I was telling the user to save the draft message, take a copy, mail the copy to themselves, then open the copy in their inbox. So your solution is certainly faster than my workaround!

This is no solution, but the field PostedDate controls EditMode. I found this when some of my agents which send email the old fashioned way (create a doc in mail.box and set all the fields) started opening in edit mode. I also was unable to switch to read mode. Adding a PostedDate field made the email open in read mode by default yet still allowed switching back and forth.
I am not sure what else this might impact though, so be careful if you modify this field.
