Hi, I would like to know if there’s a way to speed up the search(bar) response to return results in LN8 (our OS is Vista)? Our users noticed (and complains)the slowness in LN8 compared to our previous version (LN6.5 in XP).
I’ll appreciate any suggestion/help/advice on how to improve the speed of the interactive view search.

I don’t know of anything that would make version 8 slower than previous versions for this. Is it possible the database is not full-text indexed? That would slow things down a lot. Don’t trust the green dot; click the “Update Index” button and see what happens.

Hi Andre, we’ve already tried to create full-text index and updating it but it didn’t help, still slow. Besides it didn’t even return any search result unlike if we remove the index.
Am still searching the net on what else can be done but it didn’t help. Hope there’s another (effective) way to do this.

You say you don’t get any results back if you have a full-text index. Well, you will never get reasonable performance without a full-text index. Take it as a given that you need the full-text index. Then look at the search you are doing and see why it’s not working if you do have an index. What is the search? There is a way to make it work.
