How to simulate Dialoglist in web?

Hi,The good feature of Dialoglist in notes client is that it allows us to enter the new value which is not on the list, but it is not working on the web. Now I want to do the same thing on the web, anybody have any ideas how to do it?

Hi PeterYou cant do it directly using notes field. But you have to build it. Create a Form that will pop on click of button.

Which will have two fields

1. List box - with defined values

2. Text Box - if user wants to enter new value.

and on close of this dialog box - assigned value to hidden field ( may be from Listbox if user selected list box & textbox is empty or from Text Box if user typed in new value.) and then pass it to main form field.

You can do this all using javascript.

For a workaround I use two fields, one dialog list field, which will not hold any value on save, and one text field for the real value.

Create a dialog list field, field1, with this choice formula:

Add this for ‘Input Translation’: @If(@IsDocBeingSaved;“”;field1) Add this JavaScript to the OnChange event: indx = document.forms[0].field1.selectedIndex; text = document.forms[0].field1.options[indx].text; field2.value = text; Now create a text field, field2, with this hide-when-formula: field2 = “” & field1 != “” Add a field label with this hide-when-formula: field1 != “” This is not my exact code, since I have the same form for Notes and there only uses the second field and then as a dialog list field wich allows values not in the list. But I think it will work like this, too.
