How to setup SMTP failure relay

Hello everyone,

The subject maybe a little bit confusing. What i want to do is:

If my notes server(A) fail to send mail to somebody@abc.com(C), but server B(out of my company) can send mail to C. Then is it possible to tell A send mail to C by B when failure happening. Of course I have a email account from B.

If it’s possible, then how to setup.

Hi,

You can create a “Foreign SMTP Domain”.

You fill the following fields:

Domain type: Foreign SMTP Domain;

Internet Domain: “C”;

Sould be routed to internet host: “B”

This will do the job, but NOT ONLY when your server can’t send it. IT will always send mail to domain “C” through domain “B”.!!!

Actually B was not a Lotus mail server. B was a free mail system like yahoo/hotmail. And I have a free account from B. B support POP3/SMTP, that means I can retrieve my email by Outlook express.

From “Foreign SMTP Domain”, I just cant find any field to fill config like SMTP user/passwd. So I still cant send mail to C.

Any other soluations?
