How to setup an environment for co-existence b/w Lotus Notes & MS Exchange server

Hi All,

First of all I am very sorry to say that I am not a lotus notes administrator. But I have a problem and I don’t have any idea about the same, so I put my problem in front of you people, so please excuse me and rid out of it.

Problem:There are approx 1000 of MS Exchange users on one of the geographic location, and on the other side so many notes user. Now we have setup a co-existence between them so that they can share the mailbox, calendars and ToDos.

To test it out from our end

how can I establish a setup environment for this?

what is procedure to do the same?

is there any utility or tool for doing the same?

Kindly suggest me and if there is any reference then please provide me.

Thanks

Regards

Ashish

Subject: some thoughts

Hiboth products can only talk to each other by using internet standards in between.

You can configure both environments to “know” about the other side (=domain) and can forward mails, calendar invitations, etc.

But you wont get the full benefit as if all users would be using Domino.

Freetime lookup, custom apps and stored forms are just the top of your headaches.

For a better integration between both, there are 3rd party vendors on the market offering a bridge in between.

Of course these products don’t come for free… (please expect a heavy license cost.)

You can configure Domino to provide POP3 / IMAP access for your outlook users, but thats all.

The other way around, Lotus Notes can be configured to receive POP3/IMAP mails as well.

Bottom line:

Decide for one product+Take a closer look into Domino as your platform of choice, because you’ll get much much more for your money than with M$
