The Lotus Notes Client of the computer is set up for one of the users.
How can I add the ID files of the other users to this computer? Release 6.5 does not seem to have a provision for copying ID files…
Thanks in advance!

Two ways to do this. The latest rage is “Roaming users”. Study this and see if this is applicable for your situation. One thing we used to do is put the id files on the client, and then create multiple location documents, one named after each individual. Then they would select the right location and it would switch to their id file, etc.

Where would I find the ID files on the server?Or, if the server would load the ID file automatically, how do I type in the new user name?

Hi Effie,
I suggest you create a location document for each user. For a given PC, copy all the user ids to a folder say c:\lotus\notes\data.
For each user create a location and name it after the say say james. use the shortname for the user mail file on the mail tab, on the advanced tab click “user id to switch to and browse to the id folder” Save the location document. Do the same for each user.
Now for the log in, look at the bottom right of the notes client. Yes you see the name office. Click at this point and choose the name of the use you want.
You will be prompted for the password and that is it.
At start up time, just select a location name to choose the user name to log in with.
This should work.
