Hi,

You can’t send mail localy, only a server can send mail.

You can maybe create an agent who will create a document in a second database. This can be almost the same…

Hey Daniel,

Thanx a lot, i was wondering whether anyone would ever response to my question afterall…

I am new to lotus notes and hence require quite a bit of guidance. So can i say that:

  1. Even if i created a form and have the capability to send mail using doc.send(true, rcvdName), the intended receiver would not have received it unless i am connected to a server?

  2. Right now i am trying to create a form with a lot of send buttons to signify that the relevant managers signature. So is it possible that after each relevant managers had signed the form and send to the next manager, the send button for the previous manager would be hidden/ disappeared from the next manager?

Thanx for the help.

Regards,

Hengshi

Hi Hengshi,

You are asking questions very difficult to answer here in the forum.

You can try to change the configuration of your LOCATION document, MAIL tab.

If you configure there the client will send mail directly to the internet (Not to other notes users in your own domain!!!), and you add an ACCOUNT doc representing an SMTP server capable to forward messages, any message you send using your client UI will be sent directly to the internet.

Now, sending a message through an agent, I never did, but it should work.

All this configuration you may do it in your personal address book (local names.nsf), and you may also authorize running personal agents in the USER PREFERENCES.

Regarding your question if it’s possible to hidden a button when specific conditions occur, the answer is yes. To help you more we need more details about the form, subforms and so on.

Daniel
