How to send an email containing an action hotspot

Hi All,

From Notes, when I send a message containing an action hotspot to another Notes end-user, this end-user receives the message but the action hotspot is not there. There is only the text of the action hospot which is not clickable.

Any ideas ?

Thanks a lot for your answers.

Subject: Maybe what you want is a hyperlink

For external recipients, you’ll probably want to just send a hyperlink. First, highlight the text that will be the link. Then choose Create → Hotspot → Link hotspot. Paste in the url to the fileserver hosting the information. I hope that helps.

Subject: Button instead?

Hi there.

How about using a button instead? That works.

I think perhaps that once you send an email Notes formats the text causing you to loose the action hotspot information. I don’t know of any other workarounds…

Subject: button does not work

Thank for your answer. But I have used the “action hotspots” because when I use buttons, I can’t send an email. When clicking on send in an email with buttons, I have this error message:

“The following item cannot be sent or saved in MIME (internet mail) format : Button”

Subject: Try sending to yourself…

If you send to yourself, you’re sending in RichText (Notes to Notes). You won’t be sending in MIME. If it works when you send to yourself and not otherwise, who are you addressing this to? An external user?
