How to restrict users to delete database/create new replica copy

Dear All,

I want to know is there any way to restrict users from deleting database, because users can delete any database by right clicking the database > Database > Delete option.

Same is the case that they can create replica copies of specific databasee.

Is there any way to restrict users from creating new replica copies or deleting the database.

thanks in advance.

There is a setting in the Directory on who can create new databases. ACL settings control ability to delete.

For databases on a server, only those with Manager access can delete the database.

Also, the server document in the Domino Directory defines who can create replicas on the server.

All bets are off if the database is local - the client ignores ACL’s for local databases, and any database they can read they can replicate to their local machine.

This depends on the ACL Settings and where the DB is located and the server settings. For example: If you have disabled “replicate or copy Documents” in the ACL, then a user cannot replicate or copy the database. He can’t even print.

Urs’ reply is correct - with prevent copy, the user should now be able to replicate the database localy.

I’d check the permissions of Default - you will be given the most permissive settings on the ACL, so if Default has manager access, then you have manager access. Also, check ALL of the groups.

The easiest way to do this is with the effective access button on the edit acl screen. It will show you which groups on the ACL you are a member of, which roles you have, and what your effective access level is.
