How to replicate private folders/views during migration

We just realised that we are running into a huge problem regarding private folders/views.

We are migrating our servers from z/OS Domino 8.02 to z/linux Domino 8.51.

For technical reasons we have to do this via replication. So we have set up a new server with a new name, replicate all the databases to that server and finally switch ID and notes.ini so the new server comes up as te old one.

In general this worked fine on the first machine we migrated. But there have been some people using private folders that now find out that the folders aren’t there anymore. This isn’t a big thing on that machine as it’s only a few but will be on the next were this feature is probably used much more.

I know that this “works as designed” but still would like to know if somebody has an easy and fast idea how to circumvent this problem.

If there isn’t a workaround at least an easy way to find out who is using private folders would be helpful. That way we could inform them to create a local replica (which would be on possible solution as the local replica then replicates the folder back).

A different migration method (cluster, filesystem etc.) isn’t an option for technical reasons.

Thanks
