How to replicate a database between 2 different domains

Hi All,

I have a database under mail folder in XYZ domain and I need to create a replica of this database in another Notes Domain called ABC that is in a different country.

How can Ischedule replication between these 2 databases evry 60 minutes…Do we need to have a passthru server and what is the role of it?

Can someone throw some light on it.

Thanks in advance

Do you mean two different domains or two different organizations?

Two different domains would not replicate their directory (names.nsf). Two different organizations would have different top level certifiers, Server1/ACME and Server1/IBM. You can have any combination of the above. If you have different organizations you would need to create cross certificates for the servers so they could authenticate. You’d need to make sure that the ACL of the database you want to replicate contains the server names. Then all you’d need to do is create a replication connection document in one of the directories that would initiate a replication event for the schedule you want.

Cross certify the domain.Make sure both servers and any users are in the ACL. If you are using consistant ACL, you must change on both servers or replication will no occur. You may need to create a replica stub (no records and email it over to someone on the second domain that has the security rights to create a new replica on the second server. Then setup a connection document with the schedule replication. You can test this from the server console with the rep serverB mail\thefile.nsf.

Email me if you have trouble.

Actually you are cross certifying the “organizations” not the “domains”.
