How to remove automatic <form> tag?

Hello,

When I create a form, Notes always create :

<input type=“hidden” name=“__Click” value="0

is it possible to remove this because I want to creat my own form.

  1. You’ll have to close the form tag by placing as the first line on your form with passthru as yannick said. Then you can create your own form. You’ll have to refer the second form by document.forms[1] or by the name of the form if you provide one.

  2. Also you can change the form’s content type to Html (form properties - Propeller tab) and write your own html. This will be a pure html page and will not act as domino designer form anymore.

No you cannot.

A form is something you submit datas with.

If you wanna have your own one, consider creating a page which will launch an agent,

or closing the previous form and opening your own with a pass-thru HTML.

    Yes of course you can create your own form.

for that you have to take back the control of the form events from Domino.

So what you normally do is. Just select Content type=“HTML” in the form properties tab and just type over HTML in the form as you would type HTML normally in a Editor

like Notepad.

Construct your tags and do whatever HTML you would like in the form. finally select all the HTML content and Select PassThruHTML from the Menu and make it Passthru HTML.

But you got one Problem. when you preview the form in a browser it will throw an error called

Lotus Notes Exception : Documents treated as HtML cannot be Edited. if the content type is HTML and not Notes.

but you can do whatever you want using Rich text fields in the form and by generating the entire content inside richtext field. its quite complicated. but with some practice any beginner can master it.

finally when submitting the form it will take the “Get” method in default thereby transferring all the values in the query string

so you should specify the form action and the Method that the form should use. unless you specify it you will always get an error named Lotus Notes Exception or Error 400 Http bad request.

You can always close the form tag that Domino creates and add your own form tag. Code would look like this:

… Domino generated HTML…

... your code here

Now I don’t remember if you have to close the form tag or Domino will add the closing form tag for you.

Would that do it?
