How to ? Move Workspace folder out of Notes\data directory

Hi,I would like to know if it is possible to move the WORKSPACE folder out of the NOTES\DATA directory ?

Indeed, we have our Notes clients data directory located on a network drive :

X:\Lotus\Notes\data

Since the migration to Notes 8, we are facing a performance problem in openning the Standard client, because up to 80 files by client are openned on the server that hostes the Notes\data directories.

So, I would like to keep the existing X:\Lotus\Notes\Data folders, but just redirect the Workspace folder to a local drive :

D:\Lotus\Notes\data\Workspace

Has anyone an idea ?

Did you ever have any luck with this. IBM said it was not possible due to hard coded calls to the workspace folder using the data directory path in the notes.ini. If anybody has a good work around, please post.

Subject: Solution: How to specify location of workspace directory

The location of the workspace directory is controlled by the entry rcp.data in the file rcplauncher.properties in the subdirectory \framework\rcp of the Notes program directory.
