How can I have my older documents open in a newer form? I am try to do some house keeping and want to migrate/redirect older documents/forms to open with the latest form so I can get rid of the old form designs.

Subject: use a form alias
Use a form alias on the form you want to use and then rename the old form. For example,
If you want to use NewForm then call it as follows. The name is NewForm, and it will use the alias of NewForm but also use oldform when it searches for a form to open a document with.
NewForm|oldform|NewForm
