It is very good.

Hi Timothy,
the title of the redbook is “Lotus Domino 6 for Linux.”

Timothy,
You can’t install the Notes / Designer / Admin clients on Linux. They only come in a Windows version. From the Notes client perspective, connecting to a Domino server running on Linux is no different from a Domino server running on any other platform. You use the Admin client on your PC to configure the server.
Installing Domino on Linux involves some Linux system admin setup (create notes user, notes group). The software comes in the form of a single TAR file, and you work in a command prompt (terminal) window initially as you extract the contents of the TAR file and are guided through the process of choosing the Notes program directory and Data directory file paths. Then there’s a GUI that guides you through the server setup.
If you’re handy with virtualization, you may be able to get both Windows and Linux running on one physical box and quite possibly be able to use the Admin client to administer the Domino server running under Linux.
Regarding Raul’s comment – I could not find any current redbooks covering Linux on Enterprise SUSE 9, which is the environment I had to work with. I found a Domino install redbook, and it mentioned Linux in the Table of Contents, but the chapter was not actually written.
