How to import large spreadsheet into notes?

I have read through the forums trying to find a solution but haven’t found one yet.

I have a very large Excel database containing all of the US zip codes information. I need to import this into Lotus Notes so I can access it programically. The only way I found to get it into Notes is to save the Excel file as a 1-2-3 file then import into Notes.

This works great accept that when I save the Excel file as 1-2-3 it trims the file from 65535 records to 2996. This is a limitation of 1-2-3. I can’t seem to get the data to import using the structured or tabular text. Maybe I’m not formating the Excel data correctly?

Is there any way to get the 65535 lines and 5 columns of Excel data into Lotus Notes?

Thanks for any help!

tabular import seems to be the easiest and fastest. Make sure you define a view for it. The columns/fieldnames need to correspond.

If you can’t get any of these to work, it’s not too dificult to write an import function in Lotusscript. Open the Excel file through OLE then you have the VBA commands at your disposal to step through the sheet and create a Notes document for each row.

Try saving it from Excel as a .csv
