I’ve got a dilemma and hope someone could shed some lights on this:
I have several agents and each of them would take a long time to run. Then I found this great feature “Run in background client thread”, which would relieve the client system from freezing during the agent run. However, there is a restriction for this nice feature where it can only be enabled while the agent is running with Action Menu Selection. It means that all the agents will show up in the Actions Menu, and this would cause problems because the agents are view-specific and each one should work only with corresponding view. I’m wondering if I could utilize the nice “Run in background” feature while not showing the agents in the Actions Menu?

Thank you Andreas for your quick response.
But by setting the security it still means that whoever has access would be able to run the agents on every view, even the one that the agent is not supposed to run on. I know I couldn use search in the agent instead of making it view specific, but I still hope there is a way to hide the agents in the menu and I’m able to start them using an action button on each view.

Hi - you just need to put brackets (braces?) round the name of your agent. So, if your agent name is Agent Name|AliasName, you need to change it to (Agent Name)|AliasName
This will stop it from appearing in the actions menu.

Thank you so much Emily. That works exactly the way I wanted
I tried this trick before but I didn’t have an alias for the agent. And without an alias, it will change right back to the name without brackets after you save it. So I thought it wouldn’t work…
