How to have Notes 8.5.1 launch quickly and run smooth?

We are getting ready to launch notes 8.5.1 and we want it to be welcomed by our associates. We figured the first impression will be how well it’s judged.

To help with this, we want to have Notes launch and run as smoothly as possible. I know that if you have it set to enter a password at launch, it will start up much faster than if it usses SSO.

Any other suggestions on how to get the best performance from it?

Subject: Things to look at

  • At least 1 GB of RAM for best performance- Run maintenance/cleanup on local Notes installation if you are upgrading

  • Turn off scanning of java files by the OS Anitvirus (may not be an option for you)

  • Defrag HD

  • Make sure nothing is running off the network (eg Notes ID, archive databases, etc)

From a command prompt in the Notes program directory

nfixup -f

ncompact -c -i

nupdall -R

I would defrag after maintenance is run
