I would like to upgrade the Note Server application server to R6 including the mail file.
Assuming if the server is already upgraded to R6 and the mail file is remain as R5 cos the client has yet to be upgraded, what will happen if the compact task is run and the ODS is change to ODS 43. Are my user still be able to access their mail file?
In addtion, can anyone recommend how to test whether the application can run on win2000 or win2003.

When a client connects to the server the ODS structure does not play any part in inhibiting users. Because non-6 clients can connect to R6 database as long as no special or new R6 features are not used within the app – meaning don’t upgrade the database design if the user is going to use a non-6 client.
Domino server application-wise R6 server works on win2000 and win2003. So what concern do you have? I know 6.5.1 works on win2003 – it is in the release notes.
