Hello,
i need to get access to the user name (Full Name)alias.
is there a way to receive it over the session (for example?)
The Person Document in the NAB looks like this:
Field “User Name”:
Chuck Norris/Tiger
Chuck Norris
CID6378223
how can i get the value CID6378223?
Can i avoid to get the person document from NAB?
Thank you

I should have read your post more carefully. The example I gave you grabs the value from the NAB. To my knowledge, there is no way of grabbing all shortname values from a session. Once a user has authenticated (which they can do with any of their names), the session.userrname property will only return their ‘real’ canonical name eg “CN=User Name/OU=Department/O=Company”. You will need to lookup against the NAB for the info that you need.

When you perform the directory lookups, please use NAMELookup calls rather than NSF db calls. e.g., In the “Domino Directory FAQ” (google it) see this …
How do I access the Domino Directory via LotusScript? (ver 6)
See @NameLookup in “Programming Guide, Volume 1: Overview and Formula Language”

This field is a text list, so will return an array with a number of elements when you get hold of it. Assuming the required value is always the third one, you can get hold of it using doc.username(2). (0) is the first one.

thank you for the answer.but i would like to avoid to access the NAB and the person document. is there a simple way to get this value? e.g. over the session object or notesname class?
thanks
