Subject: Frameset
Not sure how you are deploying custom welcome pages to your users. Also what kind of custom welcome page have you created (e.g., Framed, Personal Page, My Work)?
If you are customizing the bookmark template and somehow copying the file to users’ machines, you can modify the applicable frameset and delete the frame which contains the Quick Notes form.
If you are using Desktop Policies to deploy customized home page to your users, unfortunately Design changes are not supported.
Subject: Personal Page
Hi Debbie,
Thanks for taking time to answer my questions. I have created a new home page using the Personal Page. I am going to be using policies to roll out the bookmark file with the new Welcome page to my users.
So I can’t go into the Bookmark template and delete the frameset housing the Quick Notes?
Thanks

You can go to the frameset for each of your users, and delete the frame that houses the Quick Notes stuff.
But such a change won’t be deployed to your users via the Desktop Policies. (Design changes are not deployed via Policies.)
Subject: What if the bookmark isn’t deployed yet?
Thank you Debbie,
I think I understand your explanation, but what if I haven’t deployed it out yet? I am the only person the bookmark is deployed to via an explicit policy.
Would I be able to make the change to the database then deploy it to everyone with the QuickNotes gone?
Thank you again.

Joseph,
re your question: Would I be able to make the change to the database then deploy it to everyone with the QuickNotes gone?
It depends on how you plan to deploy the design change. If you make a local template design change and send the bookmark.ntf file to your users, they can save it to their data directory and then refresh the design of their bookmark.nsf file. Is that what you mean?
