I started a replica of a database to a new server.
Now I notice that this replication does not start directly.
Is there a way to force it, so that the replication starts directly?

it depends whether you have the replica already on the new server or not … it you create it using administration requests you would be looking for “tell adminp process interval” but if the replica already exists then the normal replicate command comes handy: ‘replicate “SERVER/DOMAIN” path/to/file.nsf’

did you create a connection document from the old server to the new one? there you can set the interval
