You have probably created an orphan document and the probability of ever getting it back is remote. The name in the readers field probably has a typo in it and therefore can never be found. What I do is make Reader fields computed based on the content of another field (simply a field of type Names) then the Reader field looks at the Names field and if there is a value in it concatinates that list with a known role (Say [DBAdmin]and LocalDomainServers group) Now anyone with the DBAdmin can read every document in the DB so that if a person leaves the company their documents can be found and assigned to another person.

I’m afraid that I have not solved your immediate problem, but could help in the future.

Where possible, you should avoid in putting people’s names into the Authors/Readers fields and put the role instead. In this case, you can get the Id file of the person and logging in as though you’re that person that is listed in the fields.

At least try adding [Admin] role into these fields and then assign this to the server and yourself.

Hi both

getting id file means nothing.

adding roles in readers/authors fields will only help you when some people is granted

to see others’ documents. In that case, just add the role to your user access in the ACL.

Nevertheless, I would recommend giving you full administrator access to the DB.

You won’t be able to see the documents if not.

By the way, when you create the documents for the users (so you know what’s in it, no ?)

why do you want to see them again ?
