How to export address book contacts to excell spreadsheet?

Hi,I have about 1000 contacts in my address book that I need to send holiday cards out to. I need to export the address book into an excell spreadsheet.

Thwe only thing I can do is export the address book as a lotus 1223 file which I can open WITH Excell, but the formatting is all clumped together. I need the individual information fields to go into their own columns in the spreadsheet.

How can I do this?

Is there any other way to generate shipping labels from Notes address book contacts?

Thank you!

You can print contacts straight from your Notes address book. Select the ones you want to print, then in the Print Dialog, select the option on the ‘Documents Style’ tab to print multiple documents on each page. Then there’s a few options in there for label printing.

Unfortunately, when I go to print/document style/alternate form, there are no options for printing labels, in spite of the fact that the help file says there should be.

As for exporting with each field in it’s own column, that’s precisely the problem. Notes automatically groups business names, job titles, street adresses AND countries all into one column called “business”, and there is no way to have Notes automatically seperate these different bits of information into their own columns. Why don’t they make Notes compatible with Excell?

You don’t choose an alternate form to print labels from the address book. Select the contacts you want to print in the view, click Print, then on the Document Style tab of the print dialog, choose the option for printing multiple documents on a single page. You can then choose the label setup from a couple of the boxes further down in the Document Style tab.

install microsoft outlook for notes

send your contacts up the the server first via notes

when you install microsoft outlook for notes and connect, it will bring your contacts into pst outlook address book in your outlook client. You then then convert (export) to excel spreadsheet, or .csv file etc.

ehw…what a shocking solution ;-)No no no dont install Outlook!

Just create an export view with all your fields in different columns and then export the view to 123.

You should have no problems opening this in Excel! (I do it all the time without any problems)
