How to Enable Web Acess?

Hi All ,

I am new to Domino , I want to enable the web acess for lotus notes user so that they can acess the mail file on internet as well. What are the step required in domino administation to achive it.. ? One more thing i want when user type URL say www.hcl.com in internet explorer after that there shold be prompt for user too enter the email id and password , and how can i set the welcome page of my choice when user type URL in explorer. I am looking forward for some useful response.

You have to enable the http task. You can type load http in the console and add the http tasks in the notes.ini on the server.

I would suggest that you use the webredirect database for logging in to the mailfile instead of

http://addresstoserver/mail/mailbox.nsf

The webredirect database wil redirect a user to his/her mailbox specified in the person document.

in de server document you can set the welcomepage by choice limited to a certain page eg …mail, welcome page etc…

Thanks for the response , Actually i have done all the steps

given by you but what i want that when user type

www.servername.com and hit enter automatically the prompt should come up for user name and password , whereas in present situation user type " www.servername.com/mail/xx.nsf " which i dont want

How we can do it ??

Use the “webredirect” database to use for login in to the webmail.

there are several options to achive this.

  1. set " load internet configurations from server/internet site documents" to enabled.

  2. internet protocols tab → home url: webredirect database.
