My boss has recently assigned me a task of demoing the new build-in Sametime features in Domino 6.5.1 to 1 of our clients; however, I have trouble founding documentation on this new feature, so I don’t know how to setup the server and the Notes clients to use Sametime. Can someone outline the key steps of setting the build-in sametime features in Domino 6.5.1 for me?

Look in the Notes Client 6.5.1 Help database, under Sametime Connect. Also, look in the Adminstrator Help, this time under Sametime. That should be a good place to start.

You need to install the sametime program files onto your domino server. To confuse matters, you will need the latest version, and this is now called lotus workplace instant messaging 6.5.1
Once that is done the rest is fairly simple.
The sametime server really should be run on a dedicated domino server, not one used for other tasks such as mail or web applications. That’s not to say it won’t work, but sametime does place a load on the server that will affect performance.
