How to delete 60k emails quickly - ideas?

Hello,

Yesterday we sent received 60k emails (DUE TO A Email Campaign Test / User Replies / Bounces) in our notes email box.

My goal is to delete all of these as quick as possible.

Right now we’re manaully deleting each one by one.

Does anyone know of a quick and easy way to mass delete the emails in this one user box?

Thanks

It looks like ServerAdmin Plus has a mail retract feature that will do this.

hi

write an agent server side that gets all documents in the db, and then delete them depending on their fields values

(i.e. From=“…” Subject=“…” and so on).

Schedule it for whatever you want, except ‘never’, and, after achieving, remove the agent from the db.

(while saving the code, the agent will be fired at least one time… most of the time, mail boxes users are able to

launch server agents upon their own db file)

The mail DB is just a ND database so create a new view and put a selection formula on it that properly selects the offending emails. Could be something like Subject = “Whatever the subject is” or @Contains(Subject;“Specific Word”). Then open the view A selects all the documents in the view and then press delete. You could then delete the view if you want need to.

Create a view that holds the docs to remove then run this… they will be gone within one second… or two

Dim s As New NotesSession

Dim db As NotesDatabase

Dim view As NotesView

Dim vc As NotesViewEntryCollection

Set db = s.CurrentDatabase

Set view = db.GetView(“(MailDocs)”) '<-- your view name

Set vc = view.AllEntries ’ get collection of all

Call vc.removeall(True)

If those are the only emails in that view, just do Edit->Select All, then just press the delete key. If there are documents that need to be saved, then you can select all and then uncheck the ones you don’t want deleted. (You’ll notice that little checkmarks appear to the left of each piece of email.)

Alternatively, you can drop a checkmark next to one of the emails, and, without releasing the left mouse button, drag the mouse down (or up, whichever way you need to scroll). As long as you hold the mouse over the checkbox area while the screen is scrolling, the messages that your mouse passes over will be selected. Then you can hit delete.

In the future, you may want to just create a mail-in mail database to receive emails for the purpose you were describing, that way you will have them seperate from other emails, and if need be you can just delete the database.

Use the Search function (View/Search this View) and search for the Subject of those mails, then select all and delete all from the search results.

Deleting 60k messages will take forever, whichever way you do it. You might be better creating a new database and copying over the mail you want to keep.
