How to create notes id file with full access

Hello,

I have notes id file with administrative rights and also have complete access to the server. I want to create another

notes id file for existing web user.( with fulladministrative right).

Could anyone tell me how to do that?

I can not find the info in the help doucment.

A notes ID file is a notes ID file, It only becomes an Administrative ID when you add that User name directly in to the server document security tab fields or in to a group (recommended) which is in those fields in the server document

So to answer your question…

Add that user name to the same groups as you, or same fields in the server document as you are in.

Regarding the help files, you should be able to find all the information you need under the Adminstration tools - Web Administrator section

Hi,

Create a new User/Id (can use what ever user you want). Add it to the Domino Directory Configuration → Security tab → Full Admin.

You might have to restart the server .

Thanks for your prompt response. When I add the user name into the administrator field in security tab.

and copy the admin.id file from server to my lotu data folder in my pc and open the designer then I do not see the new user name who can login to designer.

I think that id file points to particular user, one id file can not have more than one user. If it can have then how to do that ??

Please let me know how to create the id file for user so that he can login to lotus notes/designer/administrator.

When register new user using domino adminstrator, You can create the ID files, but how do you create the ID file for existing user.?

I have understood that once you have created the ID file and define the user name into the administrator group then that user id will have full access.

But I can not find the help on How to create ID file for existing user?

If you already have a user - say “Shawn W Taylor” and you want that user to have admin rights to the server hten you add that user to the groups or fields on hte server configuration documents for that server as explained. However you do not create a new ID file for that.

Each registered user has an ID file that gets created on registration. Typically, it is stored in the Domino Directory in the person doc at the bottom. At registration you can also save it to a path that you specify. Some folks use ID Recovery ( I never have ). You can read all of this in the Admin Help. Seach for ‘ID recovery’ and you will be good. If you do not have a copy of every ID file in your organization including certifier ID’s (If your not using the CA process) server ID’s and user ID’s you should work very quickly to get a copy and store them in a secure space.
