We’re understaffed, and I’m the defacto notes admin right now, so I’m not exactly ‘Johnny-on-the-spot’ with dealing with this, but…
I take it I need to edit the notes.ini on the iseries for the new DST dates, no? Can someone please give me some detailed instructions for how to do so? I can get to the ‘edit notes.ini’ option just fine from a green screen, but I’m not sure what to do from there, and I certainly don’t want to screw up the notes.ini file and kabash the server…
Thanks in advance for your help!

Subject: How to correct notes.ini on the ISeries for DST
Hello,
From your green screen…
-
wrkdomsvr
-
option 13 for your server
-
on one of the lines put an “I” (uppercase i) and hit enter - that will insert a new line. I’d recommend finding where your DST and Timezone entries are and putting it with them, although you don’t have to.
-
Enter in DSTLaw=3,2,1,11,1,1
-
F2 to Save
-
F3 to Save & Exit
You will need to restart the server before changes take effect.
HTH,

thanks! that did the trick, it appears, judging by the time it stamps on a new email. I wonder if you know the syntax for that command (what each number stands for), so I can understand it better. If not, that’s cool…
Thanks!

The DSTLaw line? It’s stating what month/week/day the time changes occur on. So…
3rd month, 2nd week, 1st day,11th month, 1st week, 1st day
Glad it’s working for you!
