I have got a new computer, and it is vital for me to get my workspace icons from the old computer to the new one.On my old computer, notes has been upgraded from r5 to r7.
On the new one is a fresh r7 installation.
I have copied Desktop6.ndk and bookmark.nsf, but it has had no effect.
Does anybody know what to do?

Roaming seems very interesting. However, I don’t know anything about it, and as we are very busy on a big project, I don’t dare to experiment without knowing what I am doing.
I have a file called desktop5.dsk that I have copied, but with no effect.

Alright then do this:
You will have to create your notes shortcuts again.
I mean, don´t install it. Just copy the files. If you are in a hurry this could help. It is not very “clean” but usually works.

Hi Sebastian,That did the trick!
I have a notes 7.0.2. client on my old computer which should be upgraded to 7.0.3.
So I copied all the notes files to the new computer like you told me. Then I installed 7.0.3. on the new computer on top of the copied files. Now I have all the shortcuts, the ini-file works and I have all my workspace icons!

I think the best solution for this is enable Roaming for you. It will do what you need.
It will copy your desktop and names to the server and you will have your desktop on any computer you log in.
