How to compare for numeric value in 6 pos of 10 pos field

The selection critieria in a view I am creating must look for numerics in the 6 position of a 10 position field (the field is A/N). What is the best way to do this? thanks

yes, but how does this work… I do not see my field name anywhere so where does it fit in…
