How to change the default view in Doc Library?

I’ve attempted to follow the trail of framesets, pages, and views to figure out how to designate “Categories” as the default view of the MS Office Library in R6, but I can’t seem to figure it out. How can I do it?

It was fairly easy in the R5 library, but now I can’t find anything.

Subject: How to change the default view in Doc Library?

  1. Open the database in designer

  2. Click on framesets

  3. Right click on the “view frame” document and select DESIGN PROPERTIES

  4. Go to the third tab “design” and tick “prohibit design refresh …” this stops the nightly design update task from reversing your changes each night.

  5. Close the design properties popup

  6. Open the “view frame” document (previous we only right clicked on it)

  7. Right click anywhere and select FRAME PROPERTIES

  8. The database box VALUE is showing you the default view that is loaded on database open. You can select and alternative by pressing the yellow folder icon to the right.
