How to change sametime server setting by policy in Notes R8 Standard client

I’m trying to change the Sametime Server setting in my Notes 8 Standard clients, by policy. The clients are not taking the new setting from my Desktop policy. I have read posts explaining that the eclipse objects in the Standard client are not accessible to the Desktop policy document, and that Eclipse Update Sites are the way to handle that.

However, after spending several hours plowing through much documentation and many websites and postings, I have not been able to find any instructions on how to do what I am trying to do. Can anyone point me in the right direction to learn how I can adminstratively manage the Sametime Server settings in my Notes 8 Standard clients? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for listening to my troubles.

Subject: Wait for 8.5

It might be better to wait until 8.5 comes out, you should be able to push out the ST server via policy in 8.5
