I want to change de location of NOTES.INI from C:\Lotus\Notes to C:\Windows
But if I do it, y have the error:
“The NOTES.INI cannot be found on the search path (PATH): C:\Lotus\Notes\notes.ini”
My question is: ¿can I change the “search path”?
I’ve tried with “Environment Variables” on Advanced Tab of My PC’s Properties. And also tried with HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lotus\Notes\Path and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lotus\Notes\Path\6.0 registry key’s, but without positive result.
Subject: How to change location of NOTES.INI (solved)
I need to do that because we have an old custom application in Visual Basic that reads the NOTES.INI (but we have no more the source code, needed to make the proper changes to read the NOTES.INI from any location)
In earlier versions (R5), you could move the NOTES.INI to C:\Windows without any problem.
Using the command line option will be enaugh for me.
We have R5 rolled out with the shortcut set to c:\lotus\notes\notes.exe =h:\notes\notes.ini. This works fine and I assume it would in 6.5 too, except that I can’t change the shortcut “target” property.
Does anyone know how I can change this? We are running a small pilot of Notes 6.5 and we’ve had to put the notes.ini on C:. This is not an option for the full roll-out. We need the notes.ini on the network drive so that people can roam across PCs.
